Construction / tuning:
Visiting one of the shops in Austria this little beast caught my attention!
Also the kids always wanted to have one - and this one was on sale.
So I made a quick check in the purse, shelved the desire to go for a
plane and decided on this hovercraft.
Great design - RTR setup - and even a spare cushion came with the
set. In addition the staff did a good deal by talking me into taking an
additional tuning kit for the pusher motor. But more about this later...
Fist: opening the box: all very nicely arranged and secured.
Quickly the hovercraft was taken out, the batteries inserted in the
transmitter and the lipo charge - all in all it took less then 20 minutes
for setting up!
The supplied charger only charges through the balancer plugs - slow
and only in cars - so I decided to charge the battery with my regular
Running experience - stock setup:
For the first runs we choose an underground parking and let the
Dragstair run! What a speed! Thanks to the foam the contacts with
walls and columns were absorbed easily! 10 minutes on the lipo
signaled that it was time to go back to the charger!
I also decided to go for a 2nd lipo in order to extend the running times.
The manual claims that the hovercraft speeds up to 40 km/h - I can not
confirm that due to missing equipment, but it is fast!
Next came the desire to pimp the Dragstair!
Tuning - to brushless pusher motor:
... still to come ...
