Construction / tuning:
Straight forward out of the box assembly including the motor set offered
The building is quick (one afternoon) and easy and does not need any
The only addition I made (as with all other foam models) is a strong
tape at the bottom of the fuselage to keep the foam protected while
Small, fast, furious, loud!
Easy to control in the air - once you have learnt how to start. Here is to
mention that it is good to programme a start phase with your remote (or
trim the elevators a few clicks up) and then throw slightly up and very
stroooooong! The first attempts ended on the planes belly with a couple
of broken propellers! I could not get fast enough to the controls to stop
the engine, so the prop gave away.
First I had programmed expo, but that turned out to be not responsive
enough (especially on the elevator) at start and landing, so I skipped it
after a few flights.
The plane needs room to fly (not a bee around your neck), but it is fun to
go full throttle low over the grass (straight into the bush ... or through it if
you are fast enough). Wide loops and endless rolls as well as speed
are the forte of this plane. Fun for those who are speed junkies.
I first used 2200 mA lipos, but the fligth time was less then 5 minutes,
so I decided the bigger packs. With them I stay around 7-9 minutes (not
always full speed). The best experience I have when there is one or two
more of the FunJets on the field and we can do flybys in formation.
Landing is good and quite slow, come in fast.. one meter above the
ground slowly pull elevator to reduce speed and ...bum .. it lands (not
always by the feets but still in walking distance).
