Construction / tuning:

This plane was purchased in 2012 used during an online auction.

Multiplex stopped producing this plane in 2007 although I guess many
modellers are still looking at these sleek lines and great flying
abilities.

The decor was made professionally by the previous owner an I must
say that I bought this plane in pretty good condition! I flew it only twice -
and now it is part of the decoration of my shop - to be admired and
may be flown during some other special occasions.

The original concept of this airliner model was based on a project
from Boeing - Sonic Cruiser - designed in the late 90ths as a new
"Concorde" with the ability to fly as high as 40.000 meters and near
sonic speed. However the costs were too high and after the 9/11
incident the developers officially shelved the project in December
2002.

You can find more information on the original project
here or here !

Flight Experience:

Although the outline of this plane suggests "supersonic" the actual
flight pattern is rather docile!  Surely you can mount some more high
powered motors, but you might have a problem with the wing stability
as CFK rods were not included in the original design. Also the canard
wings are made for docile speed and not high power.

Nevertheless this plane is unique in its design and layout and I would
suggest to Multiplex to come out with an updated design and relaunch
this great Sonicliner once more!
